Setting Up Payment Forms

ZyntForms lets you collect payments directly in your form using MTN Mobile Money, Airtel Money, or bank transfer — all processed through Pesapal, a licensed Ugandan payment provider. Your money is automatically sent to you after each confirmed payment.

How it works​

  1. You add a payment tier to your form (e.g. "VIP Ticket — UGX 50,000")
  2. A respondent submits the form and pays through Pesapal's secure checkout (card or MoMo)
  3. Pesapal confirms the payment to ZyntForms
  4. ZyntForms deducts the platform fee and disburses your amount within 2–4 hours
  5. The respondent receives a ticket (for events) or a receipt PDF automatically

Example — UGX 15,000 payment:

  • PAYG: you receive UGX 14,550 (ZyntForms keeps UGX 450)
  • Pro: you receive UGX 14,775 (ZyntForms keeps UGX 225)

Pesapal's own collection fee (charged on the buyer's side) is separate and depends on your Pesapal agreement.

Step 1 — Enable payments on your form​

  1. Open your form in the form builder
  2. Go to Settings → Payments
  3. Toggle Accept payments on
  4. Add one or more payment tiers (name, price in UGX, optional capacity limit)
  5. Choose the document type:
    • Ticket — generates a QR-code ticket PDF (for events, conferences, etc.)
    • Receipt — generates a payment receipt PDF (for shop orders, registrations, etc.)

Step 2 — Set up your payout account​

Before you can go live, you must add a payout account so ZyntForms knows where to send your money.

Go to Settings → Payouts on your form and choose one of:

MTN Mobile Money​

  • Enter your MTN number in international format: +256 77X XXX XXX
  • Recognised MTN prefixes: 031, 039, 076, 077, 078, 079
  • Money arrives within 2–4 hours of confirmed payment

Airtel Money​

  • Enter your Airtel number in international format: +256 75X XXX XXX
  • Recognised Airtel prefixes: 070, 074, 075
  • Money arrives within 2–4 hours of confirmed payment
  • Bank name (e.g. Centenary Bank, Stanbic, DFCU)
  • Branch / sort code
  • Account number
  • Account holder name (must match your bank records exactly)
  • Bank transfers typically take 1–3 business days

Note: UTL (071) numbers are not supported for Mobile Money payouts. Use an MTN or Airtel number, or set up bank transfer instead.

Step 3 — Test before going live​

Use the Preview link on your form to test the payment flow without real money. In sandbox mode, all payments simulate success. MTN MoMo always fails in sandbox — this is expected Pesapal behaviour, not a bug in your form.

Receiving your money​

  • Payouts run automatically every 2 hours
  • You can see payout status for each transaction in Form → Payouts
  • If a payout fails (e.g. wrong number), ZyntForms retries automatically up to 5 times
  • After 5 failed attempts, contact [email protected] to resolve

You are responsible for any tax obligations on payments you receive through your forms. ZyntForms does not withhold tax and does not provide tax advice. Payout records are retained for 7 years and available in your dashboard for your own record-keeping.
