User Roles & Permissions

The different roles in Kanta and what each can access.

Kanta uses role-based access control. Each user is assigned one role per facility. Roles determine which modules are visible and which actions are permitted.

Roles

Super Admin (Zyntel team only)

Full platform access across all facilities. Not assigned to facility staff.

Hospital Admin

Full access to all enabled modules for the facility. Can manage users, settings, departments, TAT targets, and billing configuration. Typically assigned to the Lab Director or Operations Manager.

Lab Manager

Access to all lab modules: Lab Metrics, QC, Samples, Asset Management, and AI Intelligence. Cannot manage user accounts or facility settings. Typically the senior laboratory scientist or head of department.

Lab Technician / Scientist

Access to day-to-day operational modules: QC entry, sample management, result entry (if LIMS enabled). Cannot access financial reports or admin settings. Assigned to lab bench staff.

Receptionist

Access to Reception and Billing modules (if enabled). Cannot access lab-internal modules (QC, result entry, assets). Assigned to front-desk staff.

Viewer / Auditor

Read-only access to reports and dashboards. Cannot enter or modify any data. Used for external auditors, accreditation reviewers, or management who need visibility without operational access.
