Numbers
High-level lab numbers dashboard — daily and monthly summaries.
The Numbers dashboard gives you a single view of the key operational figures for your lab — totals, comparisons, and trends.
What's on the Numbers dashboard
| Metric | What it means |
|---|---|
| Samples received today | Total specimens received since midnight |
| Tests processed | Individual test count for the selected period |
| Pending results | Tests with samples received but no result yet |
| Results released | Authorised results sent to clinicians or reception |
| Rejection rate | % of samples rejected at receipt (haemolysis, insufficient volume, wrong container, etc.) |
| Same-day release rate | % of samples with a result released the same day as receipt |
Filtering
- Date range: Use the date picker to select today, this week, this month, or a custom range
- Section: Filter to Haematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or all sections
- Shift: Filter by morning, afternoon, or night shift (if shifts are configured)
Comparison mode
Click Compare to overlay a previous period (e.g. last week vs this week, or this month vs the same month last year). Useful for management reviews and trend analysis.
Rejection tracking
The rejection rate panel shows rejections broken down by reason code:
- Haemolysis
- Insufficient sample volume
- Wrong container / anticoagulant
- Unlabelled sample
- Sample damaged in transit
- Other
High rejection rates from a particular ward or referral source may indicate a training issue. Use this data to raise it with the relevant team.
